Planning with the Public: How to Co-develop Digital Public History Projects?
Abstract
Digital public history, when possible, should be planned with the public, not merely for the public. The involvement of an audience in projects has to be pur-sued considering the dimensions related to human-computer interaction and adoptingthe best techniques to guarantee the highest degree of satisfaction to all stakeholders:the conceivers and the developers, the programmers, and the final users. Such a par-ticipatory approach, to be effective, should be enacted during the whole project life-cycle. This contribution presents synthetically which competencies are requested, which methods could be adopted and when is it more appropriate to activate them, which results could we expect and how to evaluate the impact of projects on finalusers.
